advice
Ok all you spiritual peeps out there...
What do you do when someone you love gets bored with their faith? It's not exciting to them anymore - they are extremely blah about life in general....
Besides a lot of prayer, what the heck else can you do?
This is not really a rhetoric - I would LOOOOOOOOOVE answers

Found your blog from Steve Fuller's. Found his, well I'm not sure how. I have an aunt that lives in Altoona. Actually, she lives in Bedford and works in Altoona. I grew up in Bloomsburg.
Ok, now to your question. Let me answer with some questions of my own. What do you do when this happens to you? Do you think that would help this person? Why or Why not? Of course I dont' expect you to answer me here but maybe it will provide some jump off spots for you.

Joe,
Thanks for the comment! That is CRAZY that your aunt lives here - where do you live now? Where does your aunt work? Its a small small world.
Thanks for your thoughts - they are some good ones - I think half my problem is I dont know how I get out of these funks on my own. Sometimes I feel like Im in these funks until God does something really big and I actually notice it. So that's my prob....can we get out of it on our own?

that made it a little to simple, didn't it. i don't know how to answer your question, and I wish I did - I'll give it a shot.....
I feel like a lot of the problems facing Christians today is that we have such a high view of man, and in turn such a low view of GOD. We get bored with our faith, when we think that without Christ we are still generally "good" people. We take the cross for granted when we forget what the cross has accomplished. It's probably not the popular answer, but I know when I am struggling I usually need to stare my sin in the face, and comprehend how wretched of a creature I am - and then fall on my knees in praise Christ and what He has accomplished on the cross.
for what it's worth.

Ok, so eventually I get back to these things. LOL. Here's my two cents. Pray for your friend. Read Scripture outloud for your friend, and just be there for them. Life is hard, and the spirit works in ways I rarely understand. Many scripture writers had these funks, and that seems to have worked out ok.

Oh I forgot. I now live near Cincinatti, Ohio. Actually closer to Dayton. My aunt works at the hospital in Altoona. It is indeed a small world.
